As a Hospice Benefits Coordinator, you'll play a crucial role in supporting our team and ensuring that patients receive the care they need, when they need it.  Our Hospice Benefit Coordinators are responsible for using multiple systems to validate patient hospice coverage and ensure accurate and timely election filing. 

 

Healthcare experience verifying insurance and submitting authorizations is required.

 

Schedule: Monday - Friday 11 am - 8 pm Eastern Standard Time - this is a Remote Position.

Responsibilities

  • Process New Patient Information: Input and accurately chart patient details into our systems.
  • Validate Coverage: Work with Medicare, Medicaid, and other health programs to confirm and validate patient hospice coverage.
  • Ensure Accurate Recordkeeping: Support multiple state locations by ensuring patient records are up-to-date and correct across various electronic management systems.
  • Manage Authorization Process: Oversee all aspects of the authorization process, from initiation to tracking and follow-up, ensuring continuous coverage for services.
  • Audit Patient Information: Regularly audit patient data in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system to maintain accuracy.
  • Submit Time-Sensitive Elections: Submit patient elections to various payers daily, ensuring timely processing.
  • Assist with Ad-Hoc Projects: Collaborate with the management team on special projects, analyses, and other duties as required.
  • Drive Process Improvement: Support a culture of continuous improvement within the billing department by implementing changes that lead to best practices.
  • Build Strong Relationships: Foster close, effective working relationships with the billing support group to streamline operations.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Hospice billing experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial insurance preferred.
  • Insurance verification and submitting authorizations experience required
  • Experience with EMR software preferred, Knowledge of Matrixcare a plus.
  • Experience working with DDE a plus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Intermediate to advanced Excel skills required.
  • Office experience in a healthcare environment required.

$20.00 - $22.00 per hour (Average Pay Range). The pay range listed represents a general guideline for the role and is not a guarantee of the final offer. Compensation will be determined based on the selected candidate’s relevant experience and the specific responsibilities of the position. Final compensation rate will be discussed and confirmed at the conclusion of the interview process.
