** This position is based out of our Support Center Office, located in the Dairy Market.  The role has the opportunity for a flexible and hybrid work schedule.  Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time. **

 

The Director of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Systems is responsible for the strategic leadership, management, and operational oversight of the electronic medical record systems within Care Hospice. This role ensures the efficient, secure, and effective use of EMR systems to support patient care, clinical processes, and regulatory compliance. The Director will work collaboratively with clinical operations, compliance, administrative, and IT teams to optimize EMR processes and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the strategic vision and roadmap for EMR systems in alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of EMR-related projects, ensuring successful delivery within scope, timelines, and budget.
  • Process Management: Develop, maintain, and oversee the implementation of EMR-related business processes that ensure predictable, repeatable, and reliable outcomes.
  • System Optimization: Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance EMR functionalities, usability, and efficiency, including workflow analysis and process redesign.
  • Team Management: Recruit, train, and supervise a team of EMR specialists, analysts, and support staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with clinical, administrative, and IT stakeholders to identify needs, gather requirements, and prioritize EMR enhancements.
  • Training and Support: Develop and oversee comprehensive training programs and support services for EMR users, ensuring effective adoption and utilization.
  • Data Integrity and Security: Ensure the integrity, security, and confidentiality of EMR data, complying with HIPAA and other relevant regulations.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with EMR vendors, including contract negotiations, service level agreements, and performance monitoring.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices related to EMR systems, ensuring compliance and proactive adaptation.
  • Performance Monitoring: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of EMR systems and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • User Adoption and Support: Drive user adoption and support system goals through effective communication, training, and documentation.
  • Technical Oversight: Maintain technical aspects of the system, including maintenance, monitoring, configuration, and troubleshooting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, or a related field required. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in health information systems management, with a focus on EMR systems. Proven experience in leadership roles.
  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA.
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of successfully leading complex initiatives.
  • Proficient in EMR software applications and healthcare IT standards.
  • Working knowledge with Microsoft Operating Systems, MS Office Suites, O365, SharePoint, and Microsoft TEAMS

$130,000 - $160,000 per year (Average Pay Range). The pay range listed represents a general guideline for the role and is not a guarantee of the final offer. Compensation will be determined based on the selected candidate’s relevant experience and the specific responsibilities of the position. Final compensation rate will be discussed and confirmed at the conclusion of the interview process.
