Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Palliative Care to oversee and lead our Palliative Care Programs. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest quality of professional care services while adhering to state laws and regulatory standards. The VP of Palliative Care will play a pivotal role in motivating and retaining qualified staff, ensuring smooth operations, and building strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.   • This is a remote position, with the expectation to work during standard business hours (Eastern Standard Time Zone).
  • Must be able to travel up to 25% as needed for meetings, site visits, and partnership development.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire a dedicated team to deliver exceptional Palliative Care services, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and efficiency for patients, families, and clients.
  • Drive clinical operations across all service lines, ensuring consistent excellence and seamless coordination in patient care delivery.
  • Take full ownership of the Palliative Care Program’s P&L, balancing financial stewardship with a relentless focus on high-quality patient care.
  • Collaborate with operational leaders to uncover new market opportunities, working hand-in-hand with local teams and back-office departments (e.g., IT, Legal, Billing) to fuel strategic growth.
  • Develop and execute forward-thinking strategies to achieve short- and long-term goals that align with the organization’s vision for growth and impact.
  • Provide visionary leadership to ensure clinical operations, administrative procedures, and people systems are optimized for efficiency, effectiveness, and growth.
  • Craft and refine business plans, ensuring all program requirements are met while delivering unparalleled care.
  • Innovate and explore new avenues for expanding our Palliative Care services across multiple channels, extending our reach and impact.
  • Build and nurture key relationships with local and state officials, community organizations, and strategic business partners to ensure the program’s success.
  • Maintain an active presence in state and national Palliative-focused organizations, representing the company and driving thought leadership.
  • Empower and guide the clinical team on coding, visit scheduling, and key metrics to maintain high standards of care.
  • Team up with Sales Leadership to identify and capitalize on business development opportunities, fueling program growth and outreach.
  • Oversee staffing models for each Palliative Care Program, ensuring optimal resources are in place to meet demand and deliver exceptional care.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Management or Business related field required; Master’s degree in Business or Healthcare Administration preferred.
  • Minimum of ten years of progressive management experience including a minimum of three years’ experience in a health care organization.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Palliative Care with a sound knowledge base through training and/or experience in hospice, palliative, and/or terminal care.
  • Experience in analyzing processes, improvement planning, supporting change, and effectively managing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of Federal, State, Local, and ACHC standards, as well as other regulatory requirements.
  • High level of personal integrity and the ability to handle confidential matters with sound judgment and professionalism.
  • Strong ability to foster respectful, supportive, and constructive communication across all levels of the organization.

$175,000 - $200,000 per year (Average Pay Range). The pay range listed represents a general guideline for the role and is not a guarantee of the final offer. Compensation will be determined based on the selected candidate’s relevant experience and the specific responsibilities of the position. Final compensation rate will be discussed and confirmed at the conclusion of the interview process.
