The Director of Quality is responsible for overseeing and advancing the quality management initiatives across our hospice programs, currently operational in twenty states. The incumbent will play a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of exemplary care to our patients. Reporting directly to our Chief Compliance Officer, the Director of Quality will be tasked with a range of responsibilities aimed at enhancing patient care, safety, and organizational performance. Knowledge of federal, state, and accreditation standards applicable to hospice is required.

 

** This position is working in the office and based out of our Regional Office, located in Newton, MA. **

Responsibilities

  • Quality Management: Dive into the heart of our programs, collaborating with various teams to develop and implement cutting-edge strategies aimed at elevating quality standards across patient care, safety, and the family/caregiver experience. As the Director of Quality, you'll take the lead in executing the Hospice Quality Reporting Program (HQRP), encompassing the Hospice Item Set (HIS) and the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems Hospice Survey (CAHPS).
  • Patient Care and Relations: Foster a culture of excellence in patient care and cultivate positive patient relations by working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure consistently high-quality care and exceptional patient experiences.
  • Strategic Planning: Bring your strategic background to the table as you collaborate with management to develop comprehensive strategic plans geared towards continuous quality improvement, ensuring our services remain at the forefront of excellence.
  • Monitoring and Improvement: Keep a keen eye on quality data, including CAHPS, HIS, and Pepper reporting, to identify areas for improvement. You'll be instrumental in developing and overseeing the execution of performance improvement plans to drive positive outcomes.
  • Training and Development: Recognize training needs within the organization and partner with our training team to develop and implement targeted education initiatives, empowering our staff to continuously enhance quality scores and deliver exceptional care.

Qualifications

  • Hospice experience is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement principles is essential, with a proven ability to identify and address areas for improvement.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in healthcare quality and compliance management - hospice sector strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and accreditation standards applicable to Hospice required.
  • Knowledge of governmental and other regulatory standards, requirements, and guidelines related to quality improvement.
  • Strong technical skills to include proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Office, EMR Systems, and the use and development of databases. Netsmart experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated effective leadership skills in QAPI management, strategic planning, and/or program and staff development.
